The years go by and we have already 25 years of experience in motor sports activities behind us. We started early in the 80s of the last century through active participation in motor races all over our country, as part of a team dealing with organization and running of sports events. In the course of development we covered the way from a bend judge to a race manager and used this extensive experience to engage in time measuring and data processing at sports events. The very beginnings of serious time measuring operations were tough. Judges, drivers and all participants in organization of events needed to be educated in advantages and precision of measuring time by photocells in comparison with stop-watches. We gradually collected equipment, learned and developed the software and thus grew into one of the best equipped teams for time measuring and data processing in Croatia. In our possession we have transponders, chips, measuring devices, photocells, score-boards, displays, hand-held chronometers and other worldwide acknowledged equipment brands such as AMB, TAG HEUER, ALGE TIMING and HANHART. The racing results may be followed alive, but we are convinced that we can still do even more and better. We have been systematically following global trends and achievements and investing in new equipment so as to provide the highest possible quality and precision of results.
May years of hard work and efforts have resulted in more than 30 members of the team responsible for time measuring and data processing, and this number is constantly growing. We are especially proud that the staff, since being mostly very young, will be involved in car races for many years to come, improve and outperform us.
We have quickly outgrown the limits of a small business and are presently operating at two locations in Opatija and Zagreb. There are plans to expand the business to branches in Dubrovnik and Osijek and last year we established a company named GRABAR SPORT d.o.o. The ADRIATIC TIMING measuring unit is now a part of this company and our absolutely best reference. However, we have a great ambition to do more and better.
Last year we also established a motor racing club CHRONO SPORT with already about 20 members enjoying our full assistance and support. We sincerely hope that we will be proud of their results and achievements. But this is not all either.
This year we are launching the 1st CROATIAN MOTOR SPORTS FORUM as a result of the need to bring together all relevant experts and participants in such events so as to raise the standards of organization to a higher level and to standardize the rules and methods of their organization. The objective of the Forum is to gather all participants of the events in one place, where they will have the opportunity to solve a number of open issues through cooperation and dialogue, receive professional assistance in interpretation of rule books and regulations and in organization and running of the events and be provided with all information needed for the drivers and clubs to take part in races in the best possible way. The task of the Forum will be to raise the level and the quality of sports events, to standardize the rules of organizing and running the races themselves and to make all participants in organization familiar with the rules and regulations to be respected so as to ensure a safe course of events and much pleasure for numerous spectators. In a few years' time we will hopefully remember these beginnings with joy, as we cherish the memories of our first races from the long past 80s.
As you may see, we have a lot of plans and ambitions, as well as the knowledge and experience, and we never lack new ideas. We have been involved in an enviable number of sports events that include car and motorcycle races, karting, acceleration competitions, cycling, marathon, triathlon, cross-country skiing and many more, all of which may be found in our reference list.
